The Challenge & Objectives
The client required a dynamic platform to showcase their gym facility, trainers, and member transformation records. • The core objective was to build a high-performance public marketing site backed by a custom content management system (CMS) that their internal team could use to upload gallery images and manage training programs, without relying on third-party SaaS platforms.
Architecture & Engineering Decisions
• I architected a full-stack Next.js 16 (App Router) solution. The public-facing pages utilize React Server Components (RSC) to minimize client-side JavaScript execution, directly improving Core Web Vitals. • For the data layer, I integrated a MySQL database with Drizzle ORM to maintain strict type safety from the database schema up to the frontend UI components. • To secure the admin dashboard, I engineered a stateless JWT authentication system using the 'jose' library, bypassing the overhead of large auth frameworks. This enabled strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) enforced directly via Next.js middleware. • Furthermore, I implemented custom Node.js API routes for gallery and transformation image uploads, utilizing strict 'path.basename' sanitization to mitigate directory traversal vulnerabilities.
